Doodle 4 Google

Our Class, Room 23 did a Doodle 4 Google NZ competition. Our teacher gave us a Google format, we used it many different ways. You were able to change and distort the letters into anything that had to do with New Zealand and its national icons. There were 20 finalists chosen throughout New Zealand and they get to go to Wellington and stay at hotel for free. Their art work will also be on display at Te Papa Museum. One of the finalists is from our school. This is their Doodle (Above).

Cross Country

Cross Country was challenging but fun race for lots of people, over 30 different people made it to Zone Cross Country. I came 9th so I was a reserve for Zone. It was the top eight that made it to Zone for each group. There were 4 groups: Year 7 Girls, Year 7 Boys, Year 8 girls and Year 8 Boys. Cross Country was a difficult for me, I started a bad start, past 4 or 5 people and then at the end sprinted all my energy out and came 9th. I was very proud of my placing I got. I wouldn't have got my placing if it wasn't for all of Mr Short's and Mrs Pearson's training.

Science Road Show

On Monday 20th of July The Fonterra Science Roadshow came to Pukekohe Intermediate to show their skill in science. Their first presentation was about Carbon Dioxide and how it affected the Earth.

The Science Roadshow team filled up a balloon with Carbon Dioxide, we all had to block our ears as Andrew lit the balloon and it exploded straight away. It was very loud. The second presentation was about sound. We learnt about pitch, frequency and amplitude. They showed us how we can see sound using a fire and a speaker. As the speaker got higher the fire got lower. There were over 20 exhibits to look at after the show.

The Science Roadshow was very cool.
