Room 23 have been studying Maui's Dolphins they are only found in New Zealand.
We have found also found out that they are the world's smallest and rarest dolphins. The Maui's Dolphins are critically endangered which means they will die very soon if we don't help them. There are only one hundred and eleven left in New Zealand that is a very low number for dolphins.
Maui's Dolphins have a dorsal fin that looks like a Mickey Mouse ear it is round they have white belly that looks like white flames. Maui's use echo-location which means they use sound waves to find food and when the sound reaches a small fish it bounces off the fish back to the dolphin and they catch it. To us the sound waves only sound like clicking noises.
Maui's Dolphins live in dirty murky waters so it is very hard for them to see there prey that's why they use echo-location.
